You can also save the modified explorer.exe as explorer2.exe (for example) and set it as the windows default shell (regedit >> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon >> Shell), instead of replacing it. Some people will screw up when trying to replace the original explorer, trust me, and it's easier and safer to set another file as default instead of messing up with the original. And if some people will make several versions of explorer, it will be easier to change a single registry key, IMO.

I use you VS and i think it is the best. A nice clean look. I also wanted that start button so i downloaded this tutorial. Worked just fine. But if you instaled the super turbo tango patch that you also recomend for the best result. It wil change it back to the normal windows flag. So you have to remove the reloader in the startup folder so that it wil not change it back.

But this tutorial is great thanks!
:-) Gnome really can be made into a nice minimalistic desktop.

Nice ports btw. Wish I knew about them when I still used Windows :P.
Hey this is a great tutorial but out of fear of messing up something on my system I decided to try this little program called TClock Light found here: [link] which lets you customize the dateandtime and the start button. Using your png I just changed it into bmp and used it in TClock. It's just an easier way of doing it I guess although it does not have button rollover or push, it's just a flat image. If you are curious you can see how it looks in my scraps: [link]

Thanks for this idea and for the tutorial. :)
Thanks for the tip ~
I'm going to try :P
